Community Kids
Partnering with families to raise disciples of Jesus
Teaching children about God in fun, engaging, kid-centered ways.
Building strong foundations for life.
Community Kids is a place where kids feel God’s immense love for all people while having fun learning about Jesus in an environment that is both kid-friendly and secure. Community Kids empowers parents and partners with them in nurturing their children to become lifelong disciples of Jesus.
Environments for Kids
6 weeks – 3 years
Infants and toddlers, 6 weeks to age 3, receive loving care and playtime fun in Community’s Nursery. Upon arrival, parents check-in at the Community Kids Check-In Station.
4 years – 5th Grade
Children from age 4 through 5th grade join their families in the Worship Center for Family Worship before being dismissed to Kids’ Clubhouse mid-service. During Kids’ Clubhouse, children gather with friends for small group discipleship experiences where they dig deeper into God’s Word.
Family Sundays
At Community, we believe that just as it is important for kids to attend classes geared towards their age groups, it is also important to find times to gather together to worship and learn as families. Family Sundays are on the first Sunday of each month and are a special multi-generational service where we all worship together regardless of age.
Safety matters
The safety of your children is our first priority. As such, we have put the following measures in place to ensure that Community Kids is a safe and healthy place. If you have questions, please contact us.
Volunteer Training and Accountability
Each member of our Community Kids Ministry Team is screened by a detailed application process, federal background check, and training. A minimum of two adult team members are present in each classroom at all times to ensure safety and quality care. Only screened adults are permitted in Community Kids’ classrooms.
Check-In
For safety, all children must be checked-in before attending Community Kids classes. A member of the Community Kids staff will assist you with check-in on your first visit. At check-in, children receive printed nametags with matching security receipts for parent pick-up. On following visits, you will be able to complete check-in yourself at our Self-Check-In Kiosk.
Wellness Policy
Children who show signs of fever, vomiting, or other contagious illnesses should be symptom and fever free for 24 hours before coming to Community Kids classes.
Zero Tolerance
“The Church of the Nazarene has adopted a zero tolerance policy for sexual misconduct and inappropriate behavior with minors. All workers, leaders, and pastoral staff are to be above reproach in their conduct and to act in the best interest of others. This requires not only that they themselves refrain from engaging in any abusive or suspicious behavior involving minors; they will also be required to report without delay to the proper authorities anyone seen engaging in such behavior.”
– The Nazarene Board of General Superintendents
